I’m Juan Pablo Molina, professionally known as Molina Tattoo. I’m a Chilean tattoo artist with over ten years of experience creating fully custom projects focused on composition, contrast, and visual depth. My work exists between contemporary tattooing and fine art, developing pieces designed specifically for the body and the story behind each individual.
I hold a degree in Visual Arts and I’m also a Visual Arts teacher, a background that deeply shaped my understanding of tattooing not only as a craft, but as an artistic language. This academic foundation is reflected in a strong command of composition, color theory, and visual construction, elements that define my work in color, black & gray, and abstract tattooing.
About me
Throughout my career, I’ve developed a distinctive visual language that merges illustration, realism, and expressive design. My specialization in color tattooing is built on the advanced use of contrast, saturation, and value structure to create tattoos that retain impact, clarity, and strength over time. In recent years, I’ve also expanded deeply into black & gray work, approaching it from a pictorial perspective focused on atmosphere, volume, and visual narrative.
I’ve conducted multiple professional seminars, workshops, and talks throughout my career. My work has been recognized at international tattoo conventions, where I’ve received awards and have also served as a judge. In 2025, I was honored to receive the “Best Tattoo of the Day” award twice at the Hawaii Tattoo Expo, a particularly meaningful milestone in my professional journey in the United States.
Alongside my studio work, I’ve developed a strong educational path. In addition to working as a Visual Arts teacher, I’ve led seminars and training programs on tattooing, digital art, composition, and color in collaboration with universities, brands, and cultural institutions. I’m also the creator of a professional course on Domestika with over 10,000 students worldwide.
I’m currently based in Hawai‘i, United States, working under an O-1 Artist Visa, a designation granted exclusively to individuals with extraordinary ability in the arts. This status recognizes my professional trajectory, international projection, and artistic contributions, allowing me to develop my work in the U.S. and collaborate with studios, brands, and creative projects.
Every project I take on is approached as a one-of-a-kind piece. From the initial concept to the final tattoo, each process is developed individually to ensure coherence, identity, and long-term quality.
